Weight Management

Weight Loss. Weight Gain. Body Composition Management.

It is completely understandable to have weight-loss goals when there is so much pressure to be a particular body size. In a society that is so preoccupied with food, dieting, weight and appearance, it can be difficult to stay true to one’s own sense of well being and maintain a healthy mindset as you strive for a healthy weight. It is so important to understand that no specific weight will bring ideal health and happiness; difficulties managing weight are often deep rooted with respect to social and psychological issues and expressed through one’s relationship with food.  Our weight is impacted by many factors such as genetics, hormones, age, and medications – most of which are out of our control.

We tend to put a lot of pressure on our diet to change our appearance. We lose touch with what foods truly make us feel the best and often eliminate our favorites. My approach is to support my clients by promoting their overall health and well-being, rather than focusing solely on just the scale. Sure, I understand that you want to reduce the number on the scale, but like everything else in life there are more than simply numbers that make us successful. Those “non-scale” wins include how you feel, your energy level, the overall balance and improved variety in your diet, bringing those new eating habits everywhere, and most importantly improvement in your overall health.

By shifting the weight-obsessed focus on diet restriction to healthy eating we can get back in tune with our body, improve our body image, learn what foods make us feel the best, and develop a much more positive relationship with food so that we can get back to living life!

I can help with the following:

  • Your weight is on a roller coaster ride you wish to end
  • You tried “everything” in a desire to lose weight
  • You feel you have little or no control over your eating
  • Your mood and emotions affect how and what you eat
  • You have feelings of guilt about your diet and your weight
  • Achieving a healthy weight – be it weight loss or much needed weight-gain
  • Exercise being movement you love vs. punishment for what you ate or to earn your calories
